Army, Communist NPA Terrorist Clash Anew in MisOcc



PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 6, 2018) - - One soldier was wounded after the two armed encounter between government forces and communist NPA terrorists in two separate towns of Misamis Occidental.
Yesterday at around 4:00 p. m., the 10th Infantry Battalion encountered 15 NPAs in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, military official said.

Capt. Clint Antipala, Acting DPAO Chief disclosed that no government forces was hurt while undetermined casualties from NPAs due to bloodstains after the encounter.

Antipala said that today at around 7:50am, the pursuit troops of 14 Division Reconnaissance Company encountered the fleeing NPAs in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental.


Antipala added that one soldier was wounded while undetermined on NPA side.

 The troops also recovered two AK47 rifles, one M16 with M203 grenade launcher, one rifle grenade, blasting caps, IEDs, medical supplies and ammunitions, DPAO Acting Chief also said.

"The combat operation was conducted in respondto the report of a concerned civilian regarding NPAs presence in their community," said Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, the 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander.

Army’s Premier Division Chief Major General Roseller Murillo, Joint Task Force Zampelan Commander, commended the troops and assures medical support to wounded soldier.
"The armed encounter could have been prevented if the NPAs surrendered and take advantage of the Enhance Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government for them to go back to the mainstream society," said Major General Murillo. (By JONG CADION)
