PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov.
1, 2018)- One
Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) surrendered to 53rd Infantry "MATAPAT"
Battalion in Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur Tuesday, military official said.
Capt. Clint Antipala, Acting DPAO Division
Public Affirs Office (DPAO) Chief identified the CNT as Alias @Pipoy, a member
of Platoon Basil, MRGU, Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee.
Pipoy also
yielded two AK47 to Lt. Col. Marlowe Patria, 53rd Infantry Battalion commander,
Antipala said.
"The
initial custodial debriefing found out that he was tired in hiding and evading
our troops," said Lt. Col. Patria.
"Rest
assured that we will enroll and facilitate him to the Enhanced Local
Integration Program (E-CLIP) of our government," he added.
Custodial
debriefing is still on-going as of this posting.
Army’ss
Premier Division Chief Major General Roseller Murillo, Joint Task Force
Zampelan Commander, commended the troops for the successful surrender of the
NPA.
"We encourage other NPAs to surrender and
take advantage of the E-CLIP. It will provide them an opportunity to return
into the mainstream society and together we will solve their problems in a
peaceful way. “Major General Murillo added.
