PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov.
16, 2018) – One
Maute/ISIS remnant and one Communist NPA Terrorist surrenders to the
operationally controlled units of the 1st Infantry “TABAK” Division Wednesday
(November 14, 2018), military official said.
Capt.
Clint Antipala,
Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO) OIC Chief disclosed that in Butig, Lanao del
Sur, BUDO (not his true name) surrendered to Lt. Col. Edgar Allan Villanueva,
49th Infantry Battalion Commander.
“BUDO was
involved in harassment of Pantar Detachment in June 2017 during the height of
Marawi Siege as diversion while the bulk of the Maute/ISIS terrorist is
fighting in the main battle area,” said Villanueva.
Meanwhile,
one communist NPA terrorist surrendered also to 10th Infantry Battalion in
Tambulig, Zamboangadel Sur.
“Jhon-jhon
(not his true name) is the team leader of Baking, squad one, SECOM JOJI of the
Western Mindanao Party Committee,” said Lt. Col. Ryan Severo 10th Infantry
Battalion Commander.
“The 102nd
Infantry Brigade will ensure that the surrendered NPA will be enrolled to
Enhanced Comprehensive Integration Program (ECLIP),” Brigade Commander Col.
Bagnus Gaerlan said.
Army’s
Premier Division Chief Major General Roseller Murillo commended the efforts of
the troops for the successful surrender of the NPA and Maute/ISIS.
“We will
continuously encourage NPAs and Maute/ISIS to surrender in order to achieve a
just and lasting peace in our area of responsibility.” Maj. General Murillo
