PAGADIAN CITY (March 10, 2021) - Four members of the communist terrorist group yielded to the troops under the Joint Task Force Central on Tuesday afternoon, March 9, 2021.
“The surrendered personalities whose identities are withheld for security reasons surrendered to 7th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Romel Valencia at around 3:00 p.m. yesterday,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
“They handed over one cal. 30 M1 Garand rifle with eight ammunitions, one cal.30 Springfield rifle, one cal. 38 revolver with five ammunition, and one cal. 30 Springfield rifle with one magazine to signify their sincere intent to return to the folds of the law,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added.
Lt. Col. Valencia welcomed the surrendered personalities at the 7IB headquarters at the Old Capitol Compound, Barangay Kalawag II, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
In his message, Lt. Col. Valencia expressed his admiration to the former terrorists who finally decided to abandon their armed struggle.

“To the former rebels, help us to enlighten your former comrades so that they too will decide to come out and reject the group’s deception.” Brig. Gen. Galido added.
The four are currently undergoing custodial debriefing at the 7IB headquarters.3“We call on the other members of the communist terrorist group to surrender. This is the high time for them to do so as the government continues to offer reintegration packages to those who voluntarily surrender,” said Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, Commander of the Joint Task Force Central.
Likewise, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. attributed this success to the unified efforts of the troops, the local government unit, and the community.
