Col. Delos Santos said that the local government of Banguingui inked a partnership with the Development Bank of the Philippines for the construction of the said bridge and access road.
In his message, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. said, “As the WestMinCom Commander I assure you that the armed forces through our 4th Marine Brigade will always be here to secure your community.”
“I am happy because the peace and order situation has improved a lot, notwithstanding the continuous development in this municipality and this can be attributed to the good governance of your local government officials,” he also said.
“I now enjoin the marine forces deployed here and our police counterparts to ensure the safety and security of the workers and the equipment during the construction of the bridge,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan Jr. added.
Also present during the ceremony were WestMinCom Deputy Commander for Admin Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, Banguingui Mayor Hadji Whajid Sahidulla, Vice Mayor Denrasher Abdilla, Municipal Administrator Abdulwahid Sahidulla, DBP Accounts Management Analysts I Mark Javie Alejandro, and other military officers, local government officials, and DBP representatives.Formerly known as Tongkil,
the municipality was renamed Banguingui in honor of the dominant Banguingui
