The 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration serves as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary women in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. This celebration is also a venue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. The campaign is also a call for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.
Currently, 10% of the population of Uniformed Personnel of the Philippine National Police are women.
he Police Regional Office 9 started the celebration of Women’s Month with the showcasing of skills of PRO9’s policewomen in Taekwondo and in Fancy Drill, an exhibition drill that involves complex marching sequence and displays skills in long arm exhibition.One of the highlights of the
event was the Awarding of Deserving PNP personnel who portrayed exceptional
performance in accomplishing their duties and responsibilities.
PEMS Arlene Cabrera and PMSg Milagros Supnet were given the Medalya ng Kasanayan, they were cited for the successful conduct of Webinar on shooting incidents under investigation through the use of Incident Response Integration System (PROJECT I.R.I.S.) that has substantially decreased the number of shooting incidents in PRO9 area of responsibility that are still under investigation for 2020.
PSMS Jessica Sarsalejo, PSMS Rina Saldo and PMSg Aisa Jamil were given the Medalya ng Papuri for initiating 98 Police Community Activities that benefited more or less 2,800 female individuals, children and senior citizens.
PSSg Jay Rose Corro was also given the Medalya ng Papuri for her generosity in giving a brand new aluminum crutches to Angelito Alvarez, a Differently abled person.
