The said training was facilitated by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Education and Training in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection-Calarian Fire Department, Col. Delos Santos disclosed.
He also added that the Lectures and discussions on fire-related topics and the use of firefighting equipment were conducted at the Civil Development Center of the command. This was followed by practical exercises and demonstrations held at the WestMinCom Parade Ground in Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City.
The activity was graced by the presence of Col. Lambert Jonathan Gesolgon, the Acting ACUCS for Education and Training, U8 of the command.
In his remarks, Col. Gesolgon said, “As servicemen, we should not only be prepared to combat terrorism but also to conduct rescue operations during difficult situations such as fire incidents”.
The said training is also a prerequisite for the issuance of fire safety certification from the Bureau of Fire Protection to the command.
A total of 20 military personnel participated in the said training.“I hope that our
soldiers were able to acquire new knowledge during the training which can be
applied during cases of unwanted fires in their vicinity,” said Lt. Gen.
