“Soldiers of the 5th Special Forces and 40th Infantry Battalions and 601st Infantry Brigade together with the personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group proceeded to Sitio Lasian, Kabuling, Pandag, Maguindanao to serve a search warrant against Joross Ongga Guiamad,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
Sensing the presence of the operating troops, Guiamad fled towards an unknown direction and eluded arrest.
“Guiamad has a standing warrant for murder,” said Brig. Gen. Roy Galido, Commander of the 601st Infantry Brigade.
While scouring the target’s residence, government forces recovered one Barret, one M79 rifle, two fragmentation grenades, one rifle grenade, six unserviceable cal. 38 revolvers, one unserviceable KG9, 26 live ammunition for shotgun, five barrel of cal. 45 pistol, three suppressors of cal. 45, five bandoliers, two magazines cal. 45, and three sling bags.
Pursuit operations are being conducted to possibly apprehend the fleeing target.“The Joint Task Force Central continues to support the law enforcement operations of our partner agencies to preempt the atrocious activities of the malefactors,” said Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, Commander of the JTF Central.
“I encourage the peace-loving people of Maguindanao to take steps and continuously support us in all endeavors,” Maj. Gen. Uy added.
The recovered items were turned over to the CIDG for proper disposition.
