PAGADIAN CITY (April 29, 2021) - A joint anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Pag-Asa, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday morning, April 28, 2021, resulted in the apprehension of three drug suspects and the confiscation of contrabands.
According to WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., the joint elements of the Marine Battalion Landing Team-12, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency,and the intelligence units nabbed a certain Hassan Anggie Hawaan, 30 years old; Mannan Nusuri Muhadi, 48 years old; and Mudzna Anggie Hawaan, 42 years old, all residents of Pundohan, Barangay Simangal, Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.
Seized from their possession were 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be "Shabu" with an estimated value of Php4,760,000.00.
The apprehended personalities and confiscated items/pieces of evidence are now in the custody of Bongao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and appropriate filing of criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002".“Our good relationship with the LGUs and other law enforcement agencies like the PDEA and PNP is evident in this successful operation against illicit networks,” said Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas, Commander of the Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi.
“Together with resolve, we can fight this menace which undermines the very fiber of our society effectively. We recognize the unyielding commitment to the mission of our marines and counterparts. Bravo Zulu,” Brig. Gen. Rojas added.
