“Combined elements of the 34th Infantry Battalion and Banilisan PNP conducted a law enforcement operation to serve a warrant of arrest against Bayan Guila Dumila, a.k.a. Boy Army,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
While the government forces were approaching his location at Sitio Kabugan, Barangay Guiling, Alamada, Damila opened fire forcing the operating troops to retaliate.
“The exchange of fires resulted in the death of Boy Army,” said Lt. Col. Glen Loreto Caballero, Commanding Officer of the 34IB.
During the clearing operation, troops recovered two M14 rifles, four magazines, and 80 rounds of 7.62mm Ball. Said items are placed under the custody of the 34IB for documentation.
Brig. Gen. Roberto Capulong, Commander of the 602nd Infantry Brigade, commended the troops of the 34IB for the successful law enforcement support operation.Meanwhile, Joint Task Force Central Commander Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy said the military will continue to support other law enforcement agencies in the conduct of law enforcement operations in central and southern Mindanao.
Likewise, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. reassured the public that the armed forces will remain persistent in securing the communities and ending terrorism and lawlessness in the region.
