1 wounded, 3 survived in Labangan ZamboSur Shot-out

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (May 9, 2018) – One wounded while three others were survived in allegedly ambushed transpired at Barangay Langapod in the municipality of Labangan of this province Tuesday at 4:10pm, Police Official said.

Labangan Municipal Police Station Chief of Police PSINSP Joel M. Galleriana disclosed that a certain Mohamidin Dimatinggal Alam, 24 years old, single, and resident of Purok Dimatinggal, Lower Sang-an of the said municipality. He reported to this Police Station and put into record that the group of Mr. Carlos A. Matas at said place ambushed him. The victim sustained gunshot wound on his left armpit that he decided to abandon his single motorcycle (Racal) and single motorcycle DT owned by his companion Amerudin Alamand.

In the related incident, initial investigation conducted also disclosed as per testimony of Carlos A. Matas together with Samuel C. Patajo and Sannyboy E. Tepura that they were allegedly waylaid by single motorcycles riding individuals at Purok Tundan, Langapod, in the said town and fired shots unto their vehicles (Army Jeep) but fortunately none of them were harmed. The suspects fled to different direction after the incident.

Responding police operatives recovered from the crime scene Six cartridge cases of caliber .45 pistol, one cartridge case of nine 9mm and Two slugs of undetermined caliber of firearm while the army jeep had seven bullet holes most of which came from behind and subject for bullet trajectory examination.

Police Officer brought the wounded person to the hospital for medical examination.

PSINSP Galleriana said that both parties were accusing against each other and decided to file appropriate charges before the court.  

Labangan MPS still conducting a follow-up investigation to gather more evidence. The motives believe to be political in relation to the forthcoming election, the Chief of Police said.
