ASG member arrested in Isabela City

ZAMBOANGA CITY (March 10, 2018) - An alleged member of notorious Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) member was arrested by combined elements of Isabela City Police Station, 15th Special Forces Company, PNP Maritime Group-Isabela City and 304th Philippine Air Force Intelligence Unit during manhunt operation against wanted person at about 2:30 AM, Saturday (March 10) in Barangay Panigayan, Malamawi Island, Isabela City in the nearby province of Basilan, official said.

ZCPO-PRO9 PCInsp Helen L Galvez disclosed that the arrested ASG was identified as Masser Lim Omar 57 years old, married and a resident of Barangay Panigayan, Malamawi Island, Isabela City. This is by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention with ransom involving Tumahubong Kidnapping incident issued by Branch 261, Regional Trial Court, National Capital Judicial Region, Pasig City dated April 27, 2004 which was further subscribe by Regional Prosecutor Atty. Peter Medalle with no Bail bond recommended. Arrested ASG member was brought to Isabela CPS for proper booking and disposition.



As this developed, PCSUPT Billy B Beltran, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 9 commended the Isabela City Police Station under the leadership of PSUPT Restituto Pangusban and other operating units for a job well done.
