ZAMBOANGA
CITY (March 16, 2018) - Local and security officials convened during the Regional Peace and
Order Council in Zamboanga City, Thursday (March 15), military official said.

Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) Cpt Jo-Ann D Petinglay
Said that among
other issues, members proposed to improve traffic and address violations of
commuters and drivers by allowing other security units to support the traffic
management unit in the implementation of their job and by providing security
during checkpoints. A resolution was also submitted for commending all the
members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines within Region IX for continually
keeping the peace in the entire area.
Cpt.
Petinglay said that the members also proposed to device a security plan to
support the movement of equipment and construction workers, create a
synchronization plan based on the program of works of the Department of Public
Works and Highways, and make a periodic evaluation on the process of the
project.
Present
during the meeting were Zamboanga City Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar;
Lieutenant General Carlito Galvez, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao
Command; Police Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, regional director of the
Police Regional Office IX, represented by his deputy; Brigadier General
Roseller Murillo, Commander of the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division; and Major
General Domingo Palisoc, commander of the Tactical Operations Command,
Philippine Air Force who was represented by the commander Tactical Operations
Wing WestMin.
After the
forum, Lieutenant General Galvez, Jr., presented the Marawi Mission and the
important innovations and practices applied by the Armed Forces during the five
month long battle to liberate Marawi from the terrorist Group.
Cpt
Petinglay further said that also discussed were the Government Counter Measures
to Abduction at Sea over Western Mindanao Area of Operations and the Peace and
Order Report and 2017 Accomplishment Report of the WestMinCom by Brigadier
General Murillo.
Engr. Jorge
Sebastian, Jr., the DPWH regional director, also presented the ZamPen Opening
road Network of Security Development. Said meeting was held at Palmeras Resto
in Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City, Thursday from 9am to 3pm.
All
regional directors were also present during the said meeting, Cpt. Petinglay
added.
