From January 1 to April 19, 2018, a total of 125 communist terrorists surrendered to the Joint Task Forces of Western Mindanao Command, 31 of whom yielded in ZamPeLan and 94 in Central Mindanao, Capt. Petinglay added.

Army’s Premier Tabak Division Chief Major General Roseller Murillo, the JTF ZamPeLan commander, said the returnees were brought to the headquarters of the 101st Infantry Battalion for custodial debriefing and were initially subjected to medical examination.

“We welcome the surrender of communist terrorists in Mindanao and sustains the conduct of its focused military and intelligence operations to eliminate the remaining threats in the region,” said Major General Arnel Delavega, the General Officer-in-Charge of the Western Mindanao Command.

“I would like to acknowledge the support of the Local Chief Executives in the government’s effort to defeat the CNTs.”

“I personally believe that if the surrenders will continue, that would greatly merit the people and the country,” added MGen Delavega.
