PAGADIAN, Zamboanga Del Sur (April 18, 2018) – A
woman was rushed to the nearby hospital after being shot by the unidentified person
Tuesday at about 5:00pm in Isabela City, Basilan province, police official
said.
Police Regional Office-9 PIO-Chief Chief
Inspector Helen L. Galvez identified the victim as Hamida Ordoñez Y Nangkil,
45, married and a resident of Kapayawan Barangay, Isabela City. The victim who
sustained gunshot wound on her anterior chest, exited on her left back lateral,
and rushed to Bascom Hospital for immediate treatment.
Chief Inspector Galvez said in the initial
investigation disclosed that while the victim on board a single motorcycle
driven by her companion Ibbun Daud on their way home from city proper and when
they stopped along the Highway of Purok 4, Brgy. Menzi, Isabela City purposely
to buy bread when the gunman from behind appeared by foot and when the victim
turned around she was shot.
Suspect manages to escape after the incident.
Crime scene processing was conducted by SOCO and duty investigator and able to
recovered one spent shell of caliber 45 pistol, Chief Inspector Galvez added.
Motive of the incident is still being
investigated. The said police station for possible arrest of the suspect is
conducting hot pursuit operation.
