PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (June
20, 2019) – Two killed while three others were arrested in the encounter
between the joint government operating troops and the lawless group Wednesday
morning during the conduct of Law Enforcement Operation at Sitio Sapah Bayol,
boundary of Sirawai and Siocon municipalities in Barangay Malambuhangin,
Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte, Police Official said.

Helen L. Galvez disclose that the joint government troops involved in the said
operation are from the 905th Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile
Force Battalion-9, the Army’s 42nd Infantry Battalion and Zamboanga
Del Norte Provincial Mobile Forces Company
CInsp. Galvez said the operating troops
encountered more or less seven lawless elements (LLEs) led by @ Bating which is
under the LLE Group of Jamilon Tukalan. The
firefight lasted for about fifteen minutes. After firefight, two dead bodies of
LLE members were recovered from encounter site.
Galvez also said. the operating troops
identified the two dead bodies of the suspect as Usni Antao Lumiguis @ Ato and
Alih Antao Lumiguis who have both pending Warrant of Arrest for Murder with
Criminal Case No 2017-03-02(1452) issued by Executive Judge Laarni N. Dajao of
Branch 27 Ninth Judicial Region of Regional Trial Court, Siocon, Zamboanga del
Norte dated March 16, 2017.
Arrested from encounter site were three
LLE members identified as Sammy Lumiguis Tungkal, Hatta Yacob Angsa and Attang
Sabuddin who are included in the government’s LLE watch list and with Warrant
of Arrests which are still pending for release in court, Galvez added.
The operating troops recovered from
encounter site were the following:
a.) One
(1) Cal 45 pistol colt 1911 with Serial No. 1556708 and one (1) magazine for
cal. 45 loaded with ammunitions;
b.) One
(1) Cal 45 pistol STI with Serial No. 784312 and one (1) magazine for cal. 45
loaded with ammunitions;
c.) One(1)
Cal 45 colt with Serial No. 352864 and
one (1) magazine for cal. 45 loaded with ammunitions; and
d.) One
(1) cal. 22 rifle without Serial Number.
The arrested LLEs and recovered pieces
of evidence were properly turned over to Siocon MPS for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, the government troops properly
turned over the cadavers of the killed LLEs to the immediate family after the
conduct of post mortem examination by Siocon
Rural Health Unit.
