CITY (June 22, 2018) – At least Twenty-five
Tokhang Illegal Drug surrenderees of Zamboanga City Police Station-4 (ZCPS-4) had
just completed the six mind module sessions of Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9)
Healing in Oneness through Policing Education (HOPE) Recovery and Wellness
Program as they graduated on June 20, 2018 at PRO-9 Multi-Function Hall, Camp
Batalla, JRT Boulevard, Cawa-Cawa, Zamboanga City.
ZCPS-4 is under the leadership of
PCInsp. Hazel Fernandez based in Barangay Culianan.
PCInsp. Helen L Galvez, Focal Person of
PRO-9 Recovery and Wellness Program said that the
graduates had successfully completed the Community-Based Rehabilitation and
Treatment of the HOPE Recovery and Wellness Program consisting of Mind Modules
Facilitation of DUTERTE Program, Spiritual and Moral Formation, Shielding and
Metal Arc Wielding, and Community Services with a total of two hundred ninety-six
hours.
The graduates received NC1 certificate
from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Arc
Welding and individually will awarded with starter kit of wielding machine from
TESDA. They will also be absorbed and hire by Zamboanga City Councilor Lilibeth
Nuno in Stone Rich Corporation, PCInsp. Galvez also said.
PCInsp. Galvez added that the 25-graduates
are just part of nine-thousand tokhang drug surrenderees in whole Zamboanga
Peninsula region who were given series of intervention through the PRO-9
Recovery and Wellness Program.
The graduation ceremony is the 3rd
batch who surrendered in Tokhang to ZCPO undergoing HOPE program was witnessed
by the PCSupt. Edwin S De Ocampo, Deputy Regional Director for Administration,
PSSUPT Alan Nazarro, City Director of ZCPO, PDEA, TESDA, Barangay Council of
Taluksangay, ZCPS-4 led by PCInsp. Hazel Fernandez, Zamboanga City Medical
Center and religious groups.
The PRO-9 HOPE Recovery and Wellness Program
include Skills Trainings/Workshops facilitated by TESDA, Regular Rehabilitation
Sessions and Community Service. It also offer effective medical, psychological
and spiritual interventions to help drug users break free from drug dependence
and were fully reintegrated in the society with the needed skills for them to
be productive members of the community.

Beltran expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the stakeholders for their utmost
effort extended to the twenty five drug surrenderees which realized the
completion of the program.
