CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (June 2, 2018) –
The Local Government Units (LGUs) of seven municipalities in the 2nd
district of this province voluntary surrendered 122 loose assorted firearms to
the military and PNP Wednesday May 30.
These are the municipalities of Tigbao,
Pitogo, San Pablo, Tabina, V. Sagun, San Miguel and Dumalinao that were responded
the implementation of the nationwide program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
against loose fireamrs.
The said assorted loose firearms were
turnover from the residents through their Barangay Chairman was presented to
the media in a simple program held at the headquarters of the Army’s 53rd
Infantry Battalion, Camp Maj. David Sabido in Guipos municipality of this
province.
The program hosted by 53rd
IB Commanding Officer LTC Marlowe Patria carrying with a Theme: “Nagkaisang
Mamamayan para sa mas maunlad at payapang kapaligiran” was attended by the
Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. John Gano Guyguyon,
Zamboanga del Sur Governor Antonio ‘Tony’ H. Cerilles.
