CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug. 27, 2018) – The suspect was
killed during the conduct of Police Counter-Strike and Stop-and-Frisk operation
in Molave municipality of this province, police official said.
Police Regional Office 9 PIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez
disclosed that the operating troops were composed of the combined elements of
902nd Mobile Company of RMFB9, Regional Intelligence Division 9, Zamboanga del
Sur Provincial Intelligence Branch and Molave Municipal Police Station
conducted the said operation at Rizal Avenue, Barangay Madasigun, Molave
Municipality Saturday, Aug. 25
at around 4pm.
Galvez said that during the conduct of the said stop-and-frisk
against an identified gun-for hire personality fully known as Anito Gengson
Gungob @ "Cito", the latter suddenly drew his concealed .38 revolver
purposing to aim the same against police which prompted some members of the
operating team to take a shot at the hostile subject which eventually resulted
to his death.
Galvez added that the subject is believed to be responsible in
some shooting and robbery incidents in the neighboring province of Zamboang Del
Norte and Zamboanga Del Sur areas. (By JONG CADION)
