CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (March 27, 2019) –
One suspect was killed while the other was arrested during the conduct of law
Enforcement Operation at Purok Lubay, Brgy La Paz in the municipality
of Naga in the neighboring province of Zamboanga Sibugay at about 10:10 AM
Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
PRO9 PIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez
disxlosed that the operation was conducted by by the Combined police elements
of Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office-Intel Branch, Provincial Drugs
Enforcement Unit, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company, Naga Municipal
Police Station, PDEA9, 44th Infantry Battalion of Phil Army, Regional Drugs
Enforcement Unit 9 and Regional Intelligence Division 9 thru the implementation
of Search Warrant.
The Search Warrant number 028-I was
issued by Hon. Jeanecel G- Vercide Climaco, Acting Presiding Judge, 5th
Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Imelda-Malangas-Diplahan-Payao, 9th Judicial
Region, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay for violation of RA 10591 dated March 26,
2019.
Galvez said that the operation was
conducted at the residence of the suspect identified as Reynante Alih Abelilla.
Galvez added that the operation was resulted
to the arrest of the suspect identified as (listed in DI Watch list/Pusher/HVT-Level
2) of Naga MPS.
The operating team successfully seizure
of the following items:
one (1) piece big transparent heat
sealed sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with
an estimated weigh of 25 grams and estimated street value of one hundred
seventy thousand (Php170, 000.00) pesos;
one (1) unit hand grenade;
one (1) unit weighing scale;
seventy nine thousand two hundred forty
(Php79,240.00) pesos amount of money in different denominations;
one (1) piece 5,000 Korean money;
one (1) piece black wallet and several
drug paraphernalia.
Galvez explaine that during the
implementation of the search warrant, one Al-Kheizer Cuartocruz Canda of legal
age and a resident of said place, a companion of Reynante Alih Abelilla fired
at the operating team and subsequently ran towards the adjacent house behind
the subject residence, thus, prompted the operating troops to retaliate that
resulted Al-Kheizer Cuartocruz Canda to sustain gunshot wound on his head that
resulted to his instantaneous death.
Recovered from the possession of
Al-Kheizer Cuartocruz Canda was one (1) unit caliber 45 Colt pistol bearing
serial number 693635 chambers loaded with one (1) magazine loaded with seven
(7) live ammunitions.
Suspect is now under the custody of Naga Municipal
Police Station for proper disposition while the cadaver of Al-Kheizer
Cuartocruz Canda was properly turned-over to his immediate family after the
declaration of death by Dr Ma. Socoro Sta. Cruz, MHO and processing of the
