PAGADIAN CITY (March 19, 2019) — The Police
Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) has awarded commendation medals to the policemen from
the Zamboanga City Police Station 6 (Tetuan) and Zamboanga del Sur Police
Provincial Office for their operational accomplishments against illegal drugs and
arrest of most wanted person, police official disclosed.
Police Director Elmo Francis O Sarona,
Director of Directorate of Investigation and Management Division (DIDMD) and Police
Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Regional Director led the
awarding of medals held after Monday’s flag-raising ceremony at the PRO9 Parade
Ground, Camp Col. Romeo A Abendan, Barangay Mercedes, Zamboanga City on March
18, 2019.
Awarded for the Medalya ng Kagalingan
merit medals were the following:
PCINSP Mark Anthony L Karanain, Station
Commander;
PSINSP Ahmed Czar Annuary;
SPO3 Julambri Hadjimuddin,
PO3 Abdilla Arip and
PO1 Jescil Montecillo, all from the
Zamboanga City Police Station 6.
They were cited for their meritorious
conduct and devotion to duty during the conduct of anti-illegal drugs operation
(buy-bust) on March 1, 2019 in front of Talon-talon Elem. School, Barangay
Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City which resulted in the arrest of suspect identified
as Meriam L Kamdon.
Confiscated items were 391.92 grams of
Shabu with estimated value of Php2, 720,000.00 and three bundles of boodle
money topped with one genuine one thousand bill.
PCINSP Nestor Gania Jr.,
SPO2 Julito Asentista and
PO3 Dioscoro Ello Jr., all from
Katipunan MPS, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office were also awarded
with Medalya ng Kagalingan for the arrest of Top 1 most wanted person
identified as Arturo Dumandan charged for the crime of statutory rape during
manhunt operation on March 1, 2019 at Barangay Seres, Katipunan, Zamboanga del
Norte.
On the other hand, awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan were:
PSINSP Jaycel Cabarrubias,
SPO1 Bryan Acojedo and
PO3 Freddie Baang, all assigned at
Labangan MPS, Zamboanga del Sur PPO.
They were cited for the arrest of two
most wanted persons identified as Melanie Bajo, Top 7 most wanted and Elmer
Pangate, Top 8 most wanted, both charges for the crime of frustrated murder and
arson during the conduct of police operation on January 22, 2019 at Barangay
Bulanit, Zamboanga del Sur.
PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup stressed
out that the awardees brought honor and prestige to the police organization and
