PAGADIAN CITY (March

“We invite our clienteles, the farmers and fisherfolk to visit the Department
of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA RFO) IX to raise some concerns and
queries on agri - fisheries that require immediate response and action. Our
Malasakit Help Desk is now open and we are here to serve you,” announced
Regional Executive Director Dr. Dennis H. Palabrica.
The
Malasakit Help Desk was officially launched at (DA RFO) IX, Lenienxza, Pagadian
City recently. Regional Executive Director Dr. Dennis H. Palabrica headed the
ribbon cutting with the support of its attached agencies namely National Food
Authority (NFA) headed by the Regional Executive Director, Procopio Trabajo II,
Agriculture Technology Training (ATI), Philippine Fiber Industry Development
Authority (PhilFIDA), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), National
Meat Insurance Corporation (NMIS), Fertilizer and Pest Authority (FPA), and Bureau
of Animal Industry (BAI).
“The
Malasakit Help Desk is designed as a one – stop window for assistance in
delivering agricultural assistance and interventions to the famers and
fisherfolk,” Palabrica added. “We aim to provide necessary information on agri
– fishery programs and services. Our clienteles can also avail seeds, farm
facilities, and package of technologies.”
Moreover,
the first client during the launching was the manager from Dinas Community
Multi – Purpose Cooperative (DCMPC), Mr. Santiago Arig. He came to submit
reports of the White Corn – Demo Farm and reported that there were crop damages
in the municipality due to drought.
Director Palabrica took the report and
assured him of the necessary assistance the beneficiaries can avail. “I’m glad
that DA has a speedy action to our concern. DA has always been accommodating and
accessible,” remarked Arig.
