Gov. Dimaporo received Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. at the Provincial Capitol in Linamon-Zamboanga Road, Municipality of Tubod at around 10 a.m., the same day.
During their dialogue, Gov. Dimaporo expressed her gratitude to the military for their indefatigable service and commitment to sustain the peace and order in the province.
“The military has also been instrumental in our recent reconciliation with my husband’s cousin, Commander Bravo,” said Gov. Dimaporo.
A historic event occurred when Gov. Dimaporo and her husband Rep. Abdullah Dimaporo visited Camp Bilal on February 6, 2021, where they were warmly welcomed by Abdullah “Commander Bravo” Macapaar.
The two parties have decided to reconcile after 20 years of conflict and vowed to work together for peace and development in Lanao del Norte.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr., expressed his gratitude to Gov. Dimaporo and other local government officials for their wholehearted support to the current efforts and measures taken by the armed forces in addressing the threats posed by the terrorist groups, particularly the remnants of the Daulah Islamiyah-Maute Group and the communist terrorist group, in the province.
“With our good convergence, we will surely achieve lasting peace and prosperity in the beautiful province of Lanao del Norte,” said Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.
Among other concerns, the local and security officials also discussed measures on how to manage the existing threat posed by the Coronavirus, and the tourism and future investment opportunities that the province can offer.
During his visit to Gov. Dimaporo, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. was accompanied by Brig. Gen. Facundo Palafox IV, outgoing Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade; Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, WestMinCom’s Deputy Commander for Admin; Col. Rey Alemania, incoming Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Lt. Col. Alfonso Matias, Jr., Commanding Officer of the 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, and other military officials.Lanao del Norte is known as the Land of Beauty and Bounty. It is located in the Northern Mindanao region and its capital is Tubod.
The province consists of the municipalities of Baloi, Kauswagan,
Bacolod, Maigo, Kolambugan, Tubod, Baroy, Lala, Kapatagan, Karomatan, Matungao,
