3rd year Nursing student died after being electrocuted in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (April 13, 2018) – A 3rd year Nursing student was declared dead on arrival at the hospital by the attending physician after being electrocuted near the gate of their house in Purok Palmera, Balangasan District of this city Thursday evening, Police Official said.

Pagadian City Chief odc Police Superintendent Benito O. Recopuerto said that based in their initial investigation, the victim identified as Jan Anthony Lacumber Duran, 21 years old, male, single and a nursing student.

Investigation disclosed that at about 11:00pm the victim was together with his friend Melvyn Ladion Monterola Jr. boarded a motorcycle went to their house to get something. When they reached near the house of the victim, they park their motorcycle, his friend was left behind and the victim walked going to the gate of their house. Melvyn noticed that the victim never returned which he decided to follow and check what happen. But he was shock when he saw the victim unconscious at the upper portion of the gate and the face was on the electric pull box placed at the wall. He believed that the victim was electrocuted and he immediately asked for police assistance.

The PCPS personnel requested the assistance of ZAMSURECO-1 personnel regarding the incident, proceeded to the area able to conduct their assessment, and brought the victim to Borbon Hospital.
