PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (April 27,
2018) – The City Government thru the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD)
and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) distributed relief
goods to the fire victims this morning.
The items distributed including non-food such as
kitchen utensils, used clothing mats and blankets, CSWD official said.
CDRRMC action officer Haron D. Damada Jr. said
that a total of 12 houses were razed by fire yesterday at 9:25 in the morning that
transpired in Purok Kapalaran, Barangay Balangasan District in this city.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) City Fire
Marshal Fire Senior Inspector Edgar Quitoy the fire started at the two story
semi-concrete residence owned by Mr Tenny Quirog and escalated to the house of
his relative Marygrace Quirog, Natividad Quirog and other house nearby.
Initial investigation disclosed that according
to the witnesses, the fire started at one of the rooms of said house were the air-conditioned
system was installed, FSInsp, Quitoy said.
The Fire fighters declared fire out at around
10:20 in the morning of same date and no casualties reported but unfortunately,
FO2 Nathaniel Maghinay was slightly injured during the incident.
BFP investigator is now conducting in depth
investigation to determine the cause of fire. The estimated cost of damage was
more or less One Million Pesos (P1, 000,000.00).
