PRO- 9 Awards PNP Personnel and Promotes Four Senior Officers

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (April 23, 2018) - The Regional Director of Police Regional Office 9 Chief Supt. Billy B Beltran personally pinned PNP merit medals to the deserving PNP uniformed personnel for their exemplary performance and notable operational accomplishment during the Monday flag raising ceremony held at PRO9 Quadrangle, Camp Col. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City today.

PRO-9 PIO Chief Police Chief Insp. Helen L. Galvez said that during the activity, PRO-9 Regional Director assisted the Regional Director for Administration PCSUPT Edwin S De Ocampo and PSSUPT Narciso B Verdadero, PRO-9 Deputy Regional Director for Operations in pinning the PNP merit medals to the deserving and performing uniformed personnel of PRO-9.

The awardees for Medalya ng Kagalingan are:
PSINSP Julius B Dao-an, PO3 Larry Balasabas, PO3 Adonis Atilano, PO1 Ivan Araneta and PO1 Al-jahad Hadjiri. Chief Insp. Galvez disclosed that the awardees were all members of Curuan Police Station, ZCPO. They were recognized for the neutralization of two lawless elements identified as Isabelo Tarroza, Alexander Delos Reyes and the arrest of other criminal gang identified as Nesser De Leon during law enforcement operation at Barangay Curuan and Barangay Lakiki, Zamboanga City on April 19, 2018 which also led to the recovery of Garand Rifle, KG9, Rifle Grenades and several magazines and ammos.

Also awarded, PSINSP Sonny Boy Perez, SPO1 Merkan Idris, PO3 Jayton Lagdameo, PO1 Khalid Faizal Barahim and PO1 Kenneth Glenn Jacoba, all members of Isabela City Police Station. They are responsible for the arrest of Abu Sayyaf Group member identified as Tanjil Alim Pangamdas charged for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention during a law enforcement operation at Basilan General Hospital, Barangay Binuangan, Isabela City on April 10, 2018, Chief Insp. Galvez said.

PCINSP Oscar Buenaobra, PCINSP Norbert Velonza, PSINSP Felixberto Lelina, PINSP Marjan Sali and PINSP Alexander Raupan, all members of Police Regional Office 9. They were responsible for the neutralization of Anwar Ansang gun for hire group members identified as Suad Esmail, Top 2 most wanted person (municipal level) and Moamer Fermin, Top 7 most wanted person (provincial level) during sting operation against wanted person charged for “Multiple Murder, Attempted Murder and Frustrated Murder on April 20, 2018 at Sitio Balaisan, Barangay East Migpulao, Dinas, Zamboanga Del Sur which also resulted to the recovery of one M16 Rifle, magazines loaded with ammos, carbine rifle, 3 magazines of Carbine loaded with 51 live ammos, Chief Insp. Galvez also said.      

On the other hand, PCINSP Jade Mandi, PSINSP Nijam Salim, SPO2 Kemjie Edao, PO3 Dominic Dalena and PO1 Keymen Edao, all of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO, awarded for the arrest of two (2) gun for-hire personalities identified as Marcos Isong, Gilbert Bualat and Renato Fuentevilla, involved in contract assassinations in Zamboanga Del Sur.

PCSUPT Billy B Beltran, Regional Director congratulated the awardees for a job well done.

Meanwhile, PCSUPT Beltran administered the donning of ranks and oath taking of four newly promoted Police Superintendents of PRO-9. They are PSUPT Joseph Maulad of Zamboanga Del Norte PPO, PSUPT Edilberto Alvarez of Zamboanga City Police Office, PSUPT Edwin Verson of Zamboanga Sibugay PPO and PSUPT Homer Dumalag of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO.
