ZAMBOANGA CITY, May
17 (PNA) -– The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has processed 1,918
individuals in the on-going registration and re-validation of voters in this
city.
Data from the local
Comelec’s first and second district offices showed that 1,135 of the 1,918
processed individuals are new registrants.
The rest are as
follows: transfer of records, 224; reactivation, 24; correction of data, 168; and
validation, 367.
First district
election officer Stephen Cañete said that so far his office has processed from
May 6 to 9 the following: new registrants, 690; transfer of records, 105;
reactivation, four; correction of data, 100; and, validation of registration,
107.
Second district
election officer Joseph Ian Tria said they have processed from May 6 to 11 as
follows: new registrants, 445; transfer of records, 119; reactivation, 20;
correction of data, 68; and, validation of registration, 260.
The registration of
voters as well as validation, reactivation and data correction started last May
6 and will end October 31, 2015.
Cañete and Tria urged
the public to register and revalidate their biometrics data early to avoid the
