PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, May 7 (PNA) – The city government of Dipolog City in the
nearby Zamboanga del Norte province has started the phase-by-phase
implementation of “No Plastic Day.”
Dipolog City
Councilor Kenny Val Ong, Chairman of the Committee on Environment and Natural

including Styrofoam products.
Ong said the “No
Plastic Day” was implemented last May 1 and “it will be implemented every
Friday at the city’s central public market, flea markets and at the bus
terminal.”
Ong added that the no
plastic day will also be imposed during “tabo” (market day), which is being
held every Friday and Saturday, at Fishport Complex.
He said that a fine
of Php 1,000 will be slapped on business establishments caught violating the
ordinance while the buyer will be fined Php 100.
He said that a
motorcade marking the implementation of Ordinance 13-245 was recently held to
raise public awareness. (PNA)
