PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, May 19 (PNA) -- Government authorities are now conducting
thorough probe to unmask and arrest the suspects behind Monday's ambush slay of
a prosecutor in Marawi City, an official disclosed.
Army’s 1st Infantry
Division Public Affairs Officer-in-Charge Capt. Franco Suelto identified the
slain prosecutor as Atty. Zaipal Alawi, Sr., 64, of Marawi City.
Suelto said wounded
was Alawi’s driver, Saiben Durong Baiza, 46.
The incident took
place around 11:45 a.m. Monday at crossing Sarimanok in Barangay Marawi
Poblacion, Marawi City.
Investigation showed
the victims were on board a car with on the way home when ambushed by two
unidentified gunmen.
He said the police
and military authorities are now looking into all possible motives to unmask
the suspects. (PNA)
