PAGADIAN CITY,
ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR -– The Atro Mining-Vitali, Inc. (AMVI) is looking into the
possibility of supporting local public schools through the Adopt-A-School
scheme this year, Mining Official press estatement said.
The AMVI is presently
conducting exploration for iron ore mining in Barangay Vitali, 73 kilometers
east of this city.
AMVI Community
Relations Officer Francis Malones said in a statement that they “plan is to
adopt a school or schools within Vitali District especially those that need it
the most.”
Malones said they
would like to underline the importance of education in development and
upliftment of families.
“We are putting high
premium on education because of its importance in inculcating and molding the

families and achieving sustainable and equitable development,” Malones

they can continue with their Educational Programs.
Malones said that
Barangay Taguiti is one of secondary impact barangays identified by the
company.
Malones said the AMVI
has also extended educational assistance to the Day Care Center in Camp 147 by
providing chalks, eraser, notebooks and pencils to the students aside from the
support to the Madrasha in Brangay Taguiti.
Malones said they
also extended educational assistance last year to Sta. Fe Elementary School in
Sitio Sta. Fe of Barangay Vitali by renovating the school and provided chairs,
blackboard, eraser and chalks for the school.
“This year, we are
planning to institutionalize the company’s support to education through the
