ZAMBOANGA CITY, May
17 (PNA) -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is making the necessary
preparations for the implementation of Republic 10586, otherwise known as the
Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013 in this city.
This was announced by
LTO regional director Aminola Abaton who said they are just waiting for some
equipment from the central office to start the implementation of R.A. 10586
here.
Abaton said that
among the equipment they need are breath analyzer, and drug testing kits. LTO
personnel will also be trained to handle the equipment.
Abaton said that
there will be massive information campaign before the law will be fully
implemented.
“We are trying to
cope up with the schedule as far as the implementation of the anti drunk and
drugged law. There are aspects that we need to do before we can implement it,”
he said.
He said that the R.A.
10586 will be implemented towards the end of the year.
He said R.A. 10586
will be implemented by a composite team of personnel from LTO, police and the
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
R.A. 10586 was signed
into law on May 27, 2013. (PNA)
