DAPITAN
CITY, Zamboanga del Norte (July 27, 2015) --- The City of Oroquieta, Misamis
Occidental bag the championship in the invitational Street Dancing Competition
during the week-long celebration of the ‘Kinabayo Festival 2015’ in Dapitan
City Saturday.
City
Tourism office Apple Marie Agolong said Oroquieta City contingent also won the Best
in Street Dancing show down and Best of Costume while Dipolog City got the Mardi
Gras Queen Award.
Dipolog
City got the second place while Aloran, Misamis Occidental got the 3rd
place, Agolong said.
The winners
won Php200,000 for the champion, Php150,000 for second place and Php100,000 for
3rd place, Agolong said.
For the
category B Street Dancing competition intended for the local participants,
Barangay Cawa-cawa harvested the awards for the first place and the special
awards of Best in St. James Horse Mascot, Best in Costume and Mardi Gras Queen
Award while Barangay San Vicente got the second place, She added.
The
Kinabayo Festival started last July 16 culminated last Saturday with the invitational
competition for the revival of the street dancing, she said.
Agolong
also assured the participants for the next year competition that with the
revival of the street dancing competition this will be institutionalized in
Dapitan City during the Kinabayo Festival.
