ZAMBOANGA CITY (December 07,
2016)- Amid the intensified conduct of law
enforcement operations, elements of the 1st Scout Ranger Company, 1st
Scout Ranger Battalion encountered more or less 60 members of the Local
Terrorist Group in Barangay Sandab, Butig, Lanao del Sur this morning, military
official said.
Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) Spokesperson Maj. Filemon I. Tan
Jr. disclosed that an armed confrontation ensued, resulting in the death of a
soldier and wounding of another. As of this press time, the said operation is
ongoing.
The military continues to conduct operations to neutralize local
terrorists operating in the province of Lanao del Sur.
