PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Oct. 23 (PNA) -- Vice President Jejomar Binay arrived here Thursday for a two-day visit and to distribute wheelchairs and medical equipment in the nearby Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Gov. Antonio Cerilles and Mayor Romeo Pulmones welcomed Binay upon his arrival here at 8:30 a.m. and proceeded to the public market for a boodle fight breakfast together with the local government and barangay officials and officials of the market vendors association.

They were also joined by the members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity and the Officials of Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP)-Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council.

Binay also met with the officials and members of the market vendors in this city and told them how they could qualify and avail of the government’s housing assistance program.

The Vice President, accompanied by Cerilles, Pulmones and other officials, motored to nearby Molave town where they met with the mayors of this province’s one component city and 26 municipalities.

They returned here Thursday afternoon and met with the officials of the BSP-Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council concerning future Boy Scouts’ activities.

Binay will be the guest speaker in the induction ceremony Thursday night of the APO fraternity and will stay here over night since he is scheduled to visit tomorrow four towns in the nearby Zamboanga Sibugay province.

John Maguad, Office of the Vice President media on site representative, said Thursday Binay will distribute wheelchairs and medical equipment around 1:30 p.m. Friday to seniors citizens in the Municipality of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Before the distribution, Maguad said Binay will join the boodle fight breakfast at 9:30 a.m. at the public market in Buug, and will also visit around 11:20 a.m. the public market in Imelda, both in Zamboanga Sibugay province.

The Vice-President will visit the public market in Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay after the distribution of the wheelchairs and medical equipment.

Binay and his party will return to this city and will stay here overnight Friday. He will return Saturday to Manila. (PNA)
