PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur (Jan. 8, 2015-MPF News) --- The Philippine Drugs Enforcement
Agency (PDEA) burned at
least 541 grams of Illegal Drugs (Shabu) worth Php1.8 million during a public destruction of
dangerous drugs in front of Pagadian City Justice Hall Wednesday afternoon.
The burning of Shabu
was led by the PDEA-9
Regional Director Joseph C. Ladip and Governor Antonio H. Cerilles together
with City Prosecutor Celso Manuales, Deputy Provincial Prosecutor Dimapuno
Magangcong, representative of the Regional Trial Court, Sangguniang
Panlalawigan Member Ernesto Mondarte, Representative of the Accused, Representatives of the Church
Organizations and Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and members of the Media.
Governor Cerilles in
a simple program said the fight against illegal drugs is not only fought by the different law
enforcement agencies but by all sectors of society.
Cerilles after having been elected as
Governor had declared war against illegal drugs in the province and created the
Provincial Special Operation on Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force.

Director Ladip said the 541 grams of shabu were confiscated and the suspect Albadar Abdul y Alibasa
was arrested during the raid in a cargo carrier forwarder in Pagadian City
on October 6, 2014.
Ladip explained that
they had first conducted the proper proceedings before the total destruction of
Dangerous Drugs such as the conducting of drugs test by their Chemist, which
was submitted to the court as evidence of the case. Then 55 grams were taken from the 541 grams of
shabu to be submitted in court for evidence and the remaining was burned in
public.
