ZAMBOANGA CITY (May 9, 2017) - Honors were tendered by the men and
women of the Western Mindanao Command to Lieutenant General Carlito G. Galvez,
Jr., the newly promoted Commander of the WestMinCom, in a flag-raising activity
held at the headquarters in Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City yesterday,
military official said.
Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) Information Officer Cpt. Jo-Ann D.
Petinglay said that The WestMinCom chief was recently awarded his new insignia
by General Eduardo Año, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,
in a donning ceremony held at the General Headquarters in Camp Emilio
Aguinaldo, Quezon City last May 2, 2017.
In his message to the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian
employees of the WestMinCom, Lieutenant General Galvez said: “I dedicate this
accomplishment to the men and women of the Command, who are integral in
achieving the core mission of the armed forces. Let us continue to work
together in unison as we hurdle every obstacle and serve the people for peace
to thrive in Mindanao.”
The WestMinCom chief further commended the personnel who were recognized
today for their exemplary performances.
"May you continue to excel and uphold professionalism in your
commitment to work with the armed forces,” added Lieutenant General Galvez.
Cpt. Petinglay further said that Technical Sergeant Anthony At-At,
Firepower Non-Commissioned Officer of the Office of the Assistant Chief of
Unified Command Staff for Logistics, U4, and Ruby Abundio, Administrative Aide
of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Operations,
U3, were adjudged as the outstanding personnel of the WestMinCom for their
“unchanging commitment and dedication” that brought significant contributions
to the accomplishment of the Command’s mission.
