PAGADIAN
CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (July 19, 2017) - Two suspicious armed men were
killed during shoot out with the responding elements of Pagadian City Police
Station after one of the suspects opted to draw his firearm in a follow-up
operation following the report from the concern citizen that two (2)
unidentified persons who were armed with a short firearms were sighted at Purok,
Diwalwal, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 10:00 AM
Monday (July 17), official said.
In
a report reaching to this Office, the intelligence operatives of Pagadian City
Police Station led by PSINSP OSCAR BUENAOBRA after receiving a report from
concern citizen immediately proceeded at the reported place for follow-up, while
thereat they saw the suspects who were about to leave on board a blue Rusi motorcycle
with no attached plate number. The operatives immediately disembarked on their
vehicle and halted the two (2) unidentified male persons. The back rider who
was wearing a black t-shirt and a face mask drew his firearm and shot the
operatives leaving no other options but to preserve and depend themselves.
The
operatives retaliated that resulted to the death of the two (2) suspects who
were later identified thru the recovered BIR identification inside their wallet
as Aivan Florez Mercado and a certain Jay-r.
Recovered
at the crime scene were: three (3) fired cartridge cases of caliber .45, one
(1) fired cartridge case of caliber 9mm, one (1) caliber .9mm buddy pistol
bearing serial number 945773 inserted with one (1) magazine loaded with six (6)
rounds of ammunition for caliber 9mm, one (1) unit colt MK iv series 80 caliber
.45 pistol bearing serial number 122468 with inserted magazine loaded with two
(2) rounds of ammunition for caliber .45
and one (1) unit Rusi motorcycle with no plate number attached.
Also
recovered from the possession of suspect Jay-R were: one black key, face mask,
one (1) stripe handkerchief, fifty (₱50.00) peso bill bearing serial number
xd894780 and one hundred (₱100.00) peso bill bearing serial number au564869;
while in the possession and control of another suspect Aivan Florez Mercado were:
one (1) brown wallet with assorted documents, driver’s license in the name of Camlian
Palong-Palong and TIN ID of Aivan Florez Mercado.
The
recovered evidences were turned-over to SOCO, Zamboanga Del Sur Police
Provincial Office while the cadavers of the slain suspects are now confined at
the funeral parlor in Pagadian City.
