and News Anchor of GBPI TV11, as guest of honor and speaker during the
activity, emphasized the affectivity of the police on the ground is greatly
dependent upon the level of trust and cooperation that the community bestows
upon him to do his job. He said that the police officers are not only facing
the challenged of fighting criminality, more than that it is behooved upon him
to educate himself to the triggers that give rise to criminality in the
communities. Identifying the root cause of our problems is fifty percent of the
solution. The other fifty percent lies in the fact of his success to act as a
catalyst for the people that he serves, so that they too may do something to
address the root causes that give rise to criminality in our communities.
He
further said that he expected the police to address the root cause of the
problem rather than act on the symptoms that plague our society. In doing so,
the police and the people must learn to communicate, and cooperate in
addressing these challenges. Moreover, He emphasized that the police is the
community and the community is the police. The police must know what he is
fighting for and the people must be properly informed so that they too can
appreciate, and more than that they too can work hand in hand with the police.
