Tukuran won 1st Place in 4th Sto. Nino Sinulog Dance Competition 2013

PAGADIAN CITY - Congratulations to the Street Dancers of home town contingent of Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur for winning the 1st place during the 4th Sto. Nino Sinulog Dance Competition held Central Elementary School in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur on January 6, 2013 with cash prize of Php250 thousand.
                  
The 2nd place goes to the contingent town of Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte received the amount of Php150 thousand cash, the 3rd place won by Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte for the Php100 thousand cash and Pagadian City got the 4th place received Php50 thousand cash. 

Tukuran Queen Kathereen Banuelos was also judged as the winner of Miss Sinulog Queen Festival 2013 who received the amount of Php50 thousand cash.

Three competing contingents from the town of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte and Pagadian City arrived Tukuran town one day before the scheduled competition.

“We salute and expressed our heartfelt thanks to the organizer of this said annual activities that made Tukuran as a local tourists destination every first Sunday of January since they started the Sinulog Dancing Festival in one of our Poblacion Barangays, the Barangay Sto. Nino,” Vice Mayor Cesar “Boy” Rota told Frontline BALITA. 

The host organizer of the Sto Nino Sinulog Street Dancing competition is known only by his nickname as Dodong Tingson, a private entrepreneur of Tukuran town is the owner of Jal Fishing Industry and his daughter a Sanguniang Bayan Member of Tukuran An-an Tingson. The family is a devotee of Saint Patron Sto. Nino.

“The activity is already my commitment to the Saint Patron and this is our way of expressing our thanks for the blessings that we have received from Him thru our fishing business by celebrating the Fiesta thru Sinulog Street Dancing.,” Mr. Tingson said.

It was learned that the SB member is also committed in doing feedings and giving school supplies to the poor pupils mostly from the interior barangays in Tukuran for four consecutive years.

    1. For the Miss Festival Queen yes according to the report. But, I think she has still the share from the P250 thousand prize for the group.
