PAGADIAN
CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Sept. 30 (PNA) -– The Land Transportation Office (LTO)
has assured they can resolve the backlog problem in the printing of driver’s
license by the end of this year.
Juhan
Macaumbos, LTO district chief, said Wednesday his office has a backlog of
15,000 driver’s license from January to September this year.
Macaumbos
said the backlog in the printing of driver’s license was caused by last year’s
expiration of contract with the company producing the machine to print driver’s
license.
“LTO
now have a new company, the All Cards Company, who will supply us the machine
for the printing of the permanent DL (driver’s license) identification card,”
Macaumbos said.
He said
the new machine can print about 1,000 cards daily, “a quantity that guarantee
we can complete the printing of the cards before December of this year.”
He said
they will also work overtime, including Saturdays and Sundays, in order to
resolve the backlog problem.
He said
the new machine is being handled by LTO personnel duly trained by the company
that supplies the equipment to the agency. (PNA)
