PAGADIAN
CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (June 14, 2017) - Mayor Mamaulan “Pangga” Molok
expressed surprised over the report that more than a kilo of shabu
had been discovered by police after a clearing operation in his house in
Marawi City, in the nearby province of Lanao del Sur. He said he almost fainted
because of the wrong report and a demolition job to discredit him by some of
his political nemesis. He said even his wife was crying for almost four
hours and lost her appetite after it was shown on television in a night
news report.
Mayor
Molok in an interview said that he has not visited his house more than two
months already since it was first raided by police operatives last May 9.
He said his helper and a caretaker kept the keys in his house and rooms. He
said days after the Maute group attacked Marawi City and forcibly entered his
house, it was later occupied by the military government forces after the
neutralized the terrorist Maute group. He said he was relieved and appeased
that the military is now occupying his house thinking that it will spare from
military airstrike.
“But
then I was surprised and nearly fainted when it was reported on television that
during the clearing operation in the area, more than a kilo of shabu was
allegedly found in his house. He said the house caretaker and helper left the
house before the terrorist group entered and occupied his house.
“Who
in his right mind would do such an act when there is chaos and fighting in the
area”, Molok said. Molok said in the first raid conducted by the police
operatives led by PSupt, Marlon Tayaba of the Regional Public Safety Battalion
(RPSB) went up to the rooms upper portion and only when they went down did they
call the caretaker and helper.
He
said the first raid was then ordered by the Regional Trial Court, 12th
Judicial Region Branch 15 Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao (Holding office at
Cotabato City) were quashed that include the Search Warrant No. 2017-03-19,
Search Warrant No. 2017-03-20, and Search 2017-03-21. The order also
stated “The return to their lawful owners of ALL ITEMS SEIZED THEREBY, except
those which are contraband and herby ordered “. The three (3) pages order was
signed by Alandrex M. Betoya, Acting presiding Judge.
Meanwhile,
in the same development, a reporter of GMA Television has reported that the
house raided by police operatives in Marawi City belonged to former Mayor
Mohammad Abinal ,whom in fact and in truth the raided house belonged to mayor
Mamaulan “Pangga” Abinal Molok of Maguing, Lanao del Sur.
Sandra
Aguinaldo who made the mistaken report said that she got the information from
three police officials who are not from Marawi City. She said the mistaken
report was already corrected and asked another media personality to relay the
apology to former Mayor Abinal of Marantao. (With reports from Ric Clet
and Alben Vigilidad in Marantao and Maguing, Lanao del Sur)
