PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur (Nov.18, 2014-MPF News) --- The business climate of Christmas
in this city might be affected if the National Grid Corporation of the
Philippine (NGCP) will continue with their 3-hour rotational brownout imposed
in Pagadian City starting Monday, Business community Official said.
Zamboanga del Sur
Electric Cooperative 1 (ZAMSURECO-1) Information Officer Liberal Cabatcha said
the power curtailment imposed Monday was not formally announced by the NGCP
Official, however they informed last month that they would be implementing
power curtailment should there be power shortage especially this Christmas
season.
Cabatcha said that yesterday
Zamsureco-1 had 15-minute power outrage from 8:45-9.am., followed by a longer 3-hours
from 1-3p.m. at the east portion of city comprising 10 barangays including the
nearby town of Labangan and Tukuran and again at 6 to 9P.M. at the west portion
of the city comprising 12 barangays including some municipalities of the second
congressional district.
Up to this time NGCP has
not explained neither why the rotation brownouts are occurring nor how long
they will last, Cabatcha said.
Yesterday's power
curtailment was the first after the power was restored into normal in
September, Cabatcha added.
He said the peak load
demand of Zamsureco-1 is 34 MW to enable the cooperative to supply electricity
to its 69,857 member-consumers in one city and 24 of this province's 26 towns. (By
