Agri-crop production, multi-culture rubber production, multi-culture
animal production, aqua-culture production with the National Certificate level
one (NC-1), offered to the different communities.
PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga
del Sur (Nov. 15, 2014-MPF News) – The Technical Education and
Skills Development Authority in Region 9 (TESDA-9) Regional Director Lorenzo
G. Macapili had inducted the new set of officers of The Association of
Technical Vocational Institution in Zamboanga del Sur (ATVIZ) Friday.
The Oath-taking
ceremony of Officers of ATVIZ headed by the president Paul Omar Gangoso was
held at Chandlers Hotel in Pagadian City.
Elected Vice President
is Julius Romarate, Secretary Dr. Filomena Montealto, Treasurer Julius Pimentel, Auditor Raysa
Mamaludin and the Board of Directors are Dr. Leonardo Lucas Jr., Danile Quiapo,
Benjamin Ramas, Rey Quisumbing and Consolacion.

Regional
Director Macapili congratulated the new set of officers and also commended them
for leading in Region 9 and also compared to other regions in coming up with
the good numbers public and private technical vocational education and training
(TVET) institutions and also of having new qualified TVET courses required by
the TESDA that could respond to the new requirements of labor market.
Macapili also
encouraged ATVIZ to help promote food processing courses joint venture with the
local government Units (LGUs) and other government agencies including other non-government
organizations (NGOs) through community-base-training program that will help the
availability of more raw material in the localities that will be converted into
by products with value added.
“I am very much happy
with the active involvement of the private sectors in joining the TESDA in the
implementation of quality TVET program in the region. With your continued
support I assured you that the public bias in the technical vocational will be
gradually eradicated in the future because they will realize the importance of
technical vocational skills training after we can produce quality skilled
graduates that will compete not only locally but also globally,” Macapili said.
The TESDA Regional
Director also updated the ATVIZ on the updated Regional Technical Educational
Skills Development Plan and the Provincial Technical Educational Skills
Development Plan and assured them to have a copy next year for the guidance.
ATVIZ President
Gangoso expressed his deep appreciation to TESDA Regional Director Lorenzo
Macapili and to the TESDA Provincial Director Eulalio Lumactod for providing
the members with always updated guidelines and quality TVET program as a
recipient on the TESDA scholarship program.
Gangoso made an appeal
to the parents to encourage their children to have TVET courses and avail the TESDA Scholarship
program ATVIZ.
ATVIZ has 39 member
institutions with more than 200 TVET quality teachers that will not only give
quality skilled graduates but also in values and moral education for human
development for helping them in the bright future, Gangoso disclosed. (JONG CADION)
