7 dead, 10 were injured in road mishap

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (July 18, 2018) – Seven were dead on the spot while more than ten others were injured after a passenger jeep and two Service Utility Vehicle (SUV) Collided then turned turtle at the downgrade portion at Purok Patag in Barangay Dao of this city at 11:00 this morning.

The passenger jeep accordingly lost the break and hit the incoming two SUV.

In a CCTV Camera owned by Carlos Ganancial Jr., it was seen that the passenger jeep was overloaded going fast and the driver out of control after the break was gone.

In the initial investigation disclosed that the passenger jeep was driven by Warlito Padaran coming from Barangay Cogonan, Labangan of this province going to this city loaded with more than 15 passengers to collect their 4P’s benefits, City PNP Chief Investigator  PSI Glenn Pollescas said.   

The passenger jeep break was gone upon reaching at Purok Subida, Brgy. Dao that resulted to hit the incoming two SUV and then upon reaching the down grade portion at Purok Patag the passenger jeep turned turtle upside down twice.  

SiX passengers were dead on the spot while more than ten passengers were injured and were brought immediately to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center for medical treatment. One passenger was reportedly dead on arrival at the hospital.

The names of the casualties are still under follow-up, the investigation of the accident still on going.
