JPST Advocacy held in WestMinCom

PAGADIAN CITY  (July 13, 2018) - A joint AFP-PNP consultative assembly was held at Western Mindanao Command yesterday afternoon (July 12), WesMinCom Official said.

LTC Gerry M. Besana, WesMinCom spokesperson disclosed that the Ground Commanders of the different units under the WestMinCom Joint Area of Operations and Provincial and Municipal Directors of the PNP within Zamboanga Peninsula convened to discuss the potential Peace and Security issues upon approval of the Bangsamoro Basic Law.

LTC Besana said, the conference was presided by the Chief, PNP Peace Process and Development Office, Police Chief Superintendent Gerardo Rosales.

Presented during the conference were the updates on the Bangsamoro Peace Process and Bangsamoro Basic Law whereby the road map towards the creation of the Bangsamoro was presented, Besana added.

Alongside the road map toward the establishment of the Bangsamoro, a normalization process will be implemented by both the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), WecdMinCom spokesperson said.

“We hope that the various issues presented, including the historical injustices and through the passage of the BBL, we will be able to build the foundation for just and lasting peace in Mindanao,” LtGenDela Vega, the WesMinCom Chief said in appreciation of the recently concluded consultation.
