WesMinCom Kids receive gifts from AFP Officers’ Ladies Club

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (July 3, 2018) - The AFP Officers’ Ladies Club, Inc. (AFP-OLCI) distributed assorted bags and school supplies to the kids of military personnel of WestMinCom Sunday morning July 01, 2018 as part of the Ladies’ Club’s way of recognizing soldiers’ heroism and their dedication to serve the country and people, WessMinCom Official said.

LTC Gerry M. Besana, WesMinCom Spokesperson disclosed that at the WestMinCom Gym, more than 150 children aged 5 to 12 years old benefited the bags and school supplies distributed by the officers and members of the AFP-OLCI spearheaded by the wife of AFP Chief of Staff General Carlito G. Galvez, Jr.  Mrs. Marissa P. Galvez and Mrs. Divina C. Dela Vega, Wife of Lt Gen Arnel B Dela Vega, Commander, WestMinCom.     

The school bags and school supplies were donated by the AFP-OLCI in partnership with the CRSAFP, Rotary Club of Camp Aguinaldo, DWDD Katropa Radio, Anghel ng Masa, WMC Ladies Club, Red Cross-Malabon, Rotary Club of Cainta, and the CMO Regiment, Philippine Army, LTC Besana also said.

Besana added that in their statement, both Mrs. Galvez and Mrs. Dela Vega thanked the leadership of the officers’ ladies club in choosing WestMinCom dependents as their beneficiaries for the project.

Mrs. Dela Vega, in her message said, “We appreciate the gesture of our fellow officers’ ladies! This is also to highlight our advocacy for everyone to focus on our children’s education.”
       

“As your parents are busy in the field, you should strive hard in your studies, with those bags, notebooks and other school supplies that the officers’ ladies brought today,” Mrs. Dela Vega told the children before the school supplies were handed to them.
