Soldiers, Police conduct law enforcement operation in Sulu

PAGADIAN CITY (July 11, 2018) - The combined elements of the AFP and the PNPconducted joint law enforcement operation in Sulu at around 5:50am Tuesday to rescue RadsnalynAsta, a six year old child who was forcibly taken by seven unidentified armed men in their residence at Sitio Palau Pinang, Barangay Himba, Tandubas, Tawi-Tawi in the wee hours of June 25, 2018, Military Official said.

WesMinCom spokesperson LTC Gerry M. Besana disclosed that the operation of the combined units under the Joint Task Force Sulu composed of the Marine Base Landing Team 1 led by Major Orantes; 61st Marine Company, Marine Special Operations Group;intelligence units; and together with the elements of the 52nd Special Action Company of the PNP Special Action Force, came after a report from the locals that the abductors and their hostage RadsnalynAsta were sighted at SitioKambal, Barangay Pang, KalingalangCaluang, Sulu.

LTC Besana said that the captors together with their victim fled to unknown direction leaving behind threehigh powered firearms and war materials which includes: one M16 with banana type magazine, two M14 rifle with three magazines, and assorted military/PNP uniforms.

“Intensified pursuit and intelligence operations are continuously being launched by our troops and the PNP to track down the abductors and rescue the victim,” Brigadier General Divino Rey Pabayo, JTF Sulu commander also said.

Navy troops maximized intel monitoring and alerted the Naval Task Groups in all areas to pre-empt possible landing of the fleeing bandits and rescue Asta.

"We deeply sympathize with the family of the victim in the situation that they are in at the moment. Our troops and the PNP are doing their best to bring Radsnalyn back to her family," said WestMinCom Chief Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega.
