PCG Deputy Station Commander Chief Petty Officer Rudy Aurea |
PAGADIAN
CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Aug. 7 (PNA) -– The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has
suspended the trips of all types of sea crafts in this province and in the
nearby province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Chief
Petty Officer Rudy Aurea, coast guard deputy station commander, said Friday
they suspended the trips due to rough seas and strong winds spawned by typhoon
Hanna, although the storm did not hit Mindanao.
Aurea
said the suspension was effective Wednesday and will remain in effect until the
sea conditions normalize.
Aurea
said those who were already at high seas when they issued the suspension order
were advised to keep their communication lines open and to provide them
periodic situation report.
He
said so far, no untoward incident was reported since the time Hanna
(international name: Soudelor) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
He
said they are also in constant coordination with the City and Provincial
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils.
The
local coast guard station covers this province and the nearby province of
Zamboanga Sibugay. (PNA)
