MATLING, MALABANG, Lanao del Sur - The 51st
Infantry (FUERTE UNO) Battalion of the Army’s Premier Infantry (Tabak)
Division, under the dynamic leadership of Battalion Commander LT COL Ceasar
Marlon M Yadao, holds a Multi-Sectoral Peace Forum on November 15, 2012 at the
municipality of Lumbaca Unayan, Lanao del Sur in partnership with the Local Government
Unit of the said municipality headed by the Municipal Mayor Itomama “Farouk” S.
Guro.
At least more than four hundred participants
attended the said activity coming from the different sectors such as:
Religious, Youth, Farmers, Women, Business, Educators, NGAs, NGOs, Liga ng mga
Barangays and guests’ lecturers both from Provincial and Local Government, AFP,
PNP, DILG, DENR representatives, and some MILF members.

Among the topics being presented during the forum were
as follows: AFP IPSP “Bayanihan” by Lt Col Yadao; Conflict Management and RIDO
Settlement; Environmental Protection, Preservation and Waste management; Good
Governance; and Community-Oriented Policing System or COPS.
After the presentations of the different guest lecturers,
Mayor Guro in his message expressed his thanks for the efforts of the 51IB,
1ID, PA in the area especially on maintaining peace and order, anti-illegal
logging campaign, establishment of a Joint Peace Security and Coordinating
Center (JPSCC), and the signing of Joint Stakeholders Covenant amongst the
sectoral leaders in attendance.
The Mayor also said that through collaboration of
all stakeholders in the municipality, and with the support of AFP and PNP in
the area, lasting peace and development can be achieved by the people in the
area.
