PUALAS, LANAO DEL SUR – The three days Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) with the theme: “Building Communities of Peace through Youth Empowerment and Solidarity” was successfully conducted by 51st Infantry Battalion of the Army’s premier Division in partnership with the Department of Education of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM).
The YLS
were participated by at least 90 high school students from the 9 municipalities
of Lanao del Sur was done at Barangay Talambo in the municipality of Pualas, on
November 27 to 29, 2012 to promote and
enhance the culture of peace, values orientation, sports skills, and leadership
qualities and strengthen nationalism among the participants.

“The three-day
summit was pursued to instill the level of awareness on issues that affects the
youths. It will educate the participants
in becoming responsible citizens in the community and eventually develop into
young leaders for the future. Lt.
